The 2nd Step to Losing Weight: Just Do It!

I cannot emphasize that enough. Just do it. At least in that way, Nike got it right. Once you have your exercise plan and an idea of how you are going to cut down on the intake carbs and calories, just go out and start losing weight!

As I've said many times before, losing weight is as simple as exercising and eating healthy (or even just not putting fast food and pop into you) . Once you have outlined what you are going to do, there is nothing  in your way except your own will. That is why I stressed so much that really, when you get down to it, the key to losing weight is motivation. That is what will make or break your future of being a healthy, lean, fit person. So the best thing that you can do is stop thinking about motivation, stop thinking about exercising, and just get up, go outside, and go for it.

Now, don't fool yourself into thinking your just going to go out there and run 3 miles straight. That would in fact be hard for a great many people, fit and unfit alike. Start slow, gauge your abilities, but always keep pushing yourself. That is the important thing. If you keep pushing yourself, you will become healthier!

So now is the time! The important thing is that you do not spend time thinking about doing, but that you just do. So go out there and get exercise and have fun, and look forward to a future of health and happiness.

Once again guys thanks for reading, and I hope that my humble contributions have helped at least in a small way to enrich your lives.

I hope this helps, and again, thanks for reading!

Step 1 to Losing Weight (continued): Eating Healthy

Eating right does not mean you have to go on some radical diet. Eating healthy can be as simple as avoiding junk and making sure you get your fruits and vegetables. They say that "an apple a day keeps the doctor away." By no means does that statement sum up the entirety of what there is to know about staying healthy, but there is truth to that statement.

Pay attention to the food pyramid.

They made it for a reason, and they know their stuff. Using that as a guide for your eating habits is a great tool for staying healthy.

A few tips: Follow these several tips, and you'll already be a long way ahead of a a lot of people in your quest for healthy eating habits.

-Avoid soda: soda has a TON of sugar and junk in it. It's absolutely no good for you. Make avoiding this unhealthy beverage a routine, and you'll be off to a great start.

-Avoid fast food: whenever it is at all possible, avoid fast food. It's fast for a reason, and that's because it's bad for you. A little in rare intervals will not hurt you, but it won't help you either. It's best to just avoid it altogether.

-Limit the amount of bread, pasta, etc. that you consume: These foods are not inherently unhealthy, but they do pack in a lot of carbohydrates, so go easy with them.

-Avoid butter and buttery foods: again, they have a lot of fat. Use sparingly.

-Get your fruits and vegetables: fruits and vegetables are extremely healthy for you, so it's essential that you got large quantities of them daily! Also, they have almost no fatty properties, so when it comes to oranges, peaches, bananas, carrots, lettuce, broccoli etc, eat away!

Once again guys I wish you the best of luck, and thanks for reading!

Step 1 to Losing Weight (continued): Possible Exercise Plans

I have here some possible exercise plans for you to use. They are very simple and straightforward, but that's what the issue of weight loss actually is: simple and straightforward. Your actual plan will of course vary with your other time constraints and responsibilities, but this should assist you in figuring out something that can fit your unique lifestyle.

Possible Plan #1

Monday/Wednesday/Friday (3 times/week):
20 minute run/power walking/swimming

Possible Plan #2

Saturday OR Sunday: go with family or friends and play basketball (or another cardio sport) for at least 30 minutes.
Tuesday & Thursday: 15 minute run

Possible Plan #3

Saturday OR Sunday: 1 hour cardio physical activity
Once during work week: 20 minute run

These are only a few combinations of ways that you could get cardiovascular physical activity throughout the week. If you can do get cardio exercise every day or nearly every day, all the better. However, for many of us, that is simply not a practical option. However, consistently using any of these plans combined with conscientious eating habits will help you to lose weight. Find what is right for you, and write it up for your own  motivation and convenience.

Also, let your friends know your plan. They can act as "keep you honest" checks, and can greatly help you to stay motivated in your pursuit to lose weight.

Once again thanks for reading, and I hope my contributions help you become a healthy, lean, happy person!

How to Lose Weight: Step 1

Hi everyone! Thanks again for viewing my blog. In today's post we're going to advance into how to lose weight. Now remember, you do not need any miracle cure, miracle medicine, etc. The "secret"  is avoiding junky food and exercising--NEITHER of which you need excessive amounts of money for: just motivation. So enough chit chat. Let's get down to it:

THE FIRST STEP

You must make a plan or schedule. This is an absolute necessity, and a key to staying motivated in your quest to lose weight and be healthy. This includes:

-Making a list of what foods you will avoid, or allow yourself only on special occasions (cheetos, donuts, doritos, sweets in general). Another big one is soda. Soda has a TON of sugar, and if you can avoid that entirely, then you are doing well already. Furthermore, if you are in the habit of regularly eating at fast food places and can at all avoid it, do so. Compose a meal plan in which you create simple, healthy meals. The more you have a food schedule planned out, the less you will find yourself copping out and simply getting a greasy cheeseburger. There is a huge wealth of books and online resources devoted to healthy meal planning, so take advantage of them!

-Making an exercise plan. It is ideal to get cardiovascular exercise every single day. That, however, can often be impractical, even for the most devoted athletes. Craft a plan that fits your schedule, but make sure to get at least 20 minutes of cardiovascular exercise at least 3 times per week. If you don't think you have time, trust me, you do. The time is there, you just have to have the drive to get it done. Running, swimming, power-walking, and biking are all great forms of exercise.
Also, get friends and family involved! Exercising with a group of some of your favorite people is a fantastic motivator. Go with some friends and go for a run, or play tennis or basketball. Sports are also a great source of exercise because they are very physically engaging and you're often not even thinking about it.

Stay in there!

Starting Out: How to Lose Weight

Hey everybody! Thanks for viewing my new blog. As the title says, this blog is created for the purpose of helping people just like you to lose weight. ANYONE can do it, and that's the truth. I used to be 40 lbs overweight, and now I am towards the bottom of my age group's recommended weight. I'm telling you, ANYONE can do it. All you need are the following things:

1) Motivation - You need to want your goal. If you don't strive for it, you will not succeed. That is true in nearly anything and everything.

And that's it! The key to losing weight is motivation. That's the secret.

Now pay very close attention when I say this: you do not need any radical TV miracle cures! All those ever do is take your money while endangering your health! Easy weight loss is not hard to achieve, because I repeat, all you need is motivation! If you think you can't do it, you can! So throw away any miracle cure that supposedly makes belly fat disappear, and let me help you start getting real results.

Eating less junk food and exercising more is most of the struggle. Don't let anyone tell you that you need some kind of miracle cure because you do not. And this is where motivation comes in--you have to want it. Eat less crappy foods, and exercise regularly, and I guarantee you that you will get down to a lean, healthy weight.

But if it was that simple, wouldn't everyone be fit? Well, you'd think so. But that is why I'm doing this blog. I'm here to help you 1) Stay Motivated, and 2) find creative, fun, and engaging ways to eat healthy and exercise. That is key to being able to keep up your healthy eating and regular physical activity.

So stay in there and get excited about losing weight! I will be posting regularly (probably weekly at least) on fun, cheap/free, and engaging ways to lose weight and stay fit!
